Noctilucent clouds appear during a calm summer night over the island Aero, situated in the Southern Sea of Denmark. Through smallest ice crystals, these special clouds appear in heights as far as 80 kilometres and more and can only been seen during a few nights around the midsummer night each year.
When looking towards the Northern horizon, the sky doesn’t turn dark during this period but is showing light all night long.
